When my son was diagnosed with a language delay, I prayed about how I could best facilitate his needs, while also giving back to other families struggling with the same concerns  I had regarding my son. After receiving guidance through our father God, I decided to go back to school after being a stay at home mother, and become the resource that my son needed. I opened More Than Words Therapy, so our community would be offered the level of services and expertise they deserve. The gratitude that I have received from my patient’s families has been one of the most rewarding blessings in my life. Watching a child evolve into their full potential while guiding the parent along the way has been such a humbling experience. The team at More Than Words are constantly striving to provide innovative and progressive approaches to improve the lives of our patients. More Than Words has allowed me to engage in local activities, support our community, and yet enjoy being a mother to our two children Ethan and Kaitlyn. More Than Words…Therapy Services has evolved from one therapist to a team of highly trained professionals and I am so proud of the work they accomplish!

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Angela Terrado M.S, CCC-SLP owner of More Than Words Therapy, received her undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University. While in attendance she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian. She then earned her Master’s of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences degree also from Tennessee State University. She has practiced in a multitude of settings but pediatrics is her passion. After having a son diagnosed with a language delay, Angie felt that services locally needed to be elevated, and took it upon herself to advocate that necessity for her son. She was adamant about becoming a community resource for both her own son and other children needing services within the community. Angie has received specialized training in Pediatric Feeding Disorders from across the country to include: Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center, S.O.S. Feeding in Colorado, Food Chaining in Chicago, and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing in Nashville TN. She is trained in the PROMPT program, which focuses on speech and apraxia treatments.
